REMOVE IT is built so your photos stay yours. This policy explains exactly what that means.

Your photos stay on your device

Every photo you open is analysed, edited and saved on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Your photos, your creations and your settings are never uploaded to us or to anyone else (with iCloud Sync on, they're kept in your own iCloud; see below). Once its AI is downloaded, REMOVE IT works fully offline.

Downloading the AI

The first time it's needed, your device downloads the AI model files from Hugging Face, which hosts open AI models: about 300 MB for Remove and Smart Select, and about 3.5 GB for Expand and Background, which you choose to download. Like any website, Hugging Face receives the download request from your device (such as its IP address). No photo, creation or personal information is sent, and nothing is downloaded again unless you remove a model and it's needed again.

What we collect

Nothing. REMOVE IT has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it doesn't collect personal data.

Photos and camera

You choose photos with Apple's photo picker, which only gives the app the photos you pick, or take one with the camera. When you save a result, the app asks for permission to add it to your Photos library; it never reads the rest of your library. Photos you share into REMOVE IT from other apps are kept in the app's own private storage.

Your projects

Your edits are kept in the app's private storage on your device so you can come back to them. Small thumbnails of your most recent projects are shared with the app's own widgets, also on your device. Deleting a project deletes it.

iCloud Sync

If you're a Pro member and leave iCloud Sync on (Settings › iCloud), your projects (each original, its latest result, a thumbnail and the photo's own details) are stored in your own private iCloud database, using your iCloud storage, so they appear on your other devices signed in to the same iCloud. This is Apple's iCloud: we can't see or access anything stored there. Turn it off at any time; to delete the copies in iCloud, go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage › REMOVE IT.

Purchases

Subscriptions and Lifetime are bought through Apple. Apple handles payment; we receive no payment details.

Notifications

If you allow them, the app can remind you two days before a free trial ends. The reminder is scheduled on your device.

Children

REMOVE IT isn't directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
