Terms of Use

These terms apply to the REMOVE IT: AI Remover & Backgrounds app ("the app"), published by Stadium Status Records ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them, and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies.

1. What the app does

REMOVE IT edits your photos on your device. It finds people and things with Apple's Vision, outlines what you tap or paint with an AI selection model, rebuilds what was behind removed objects with an AI inpainting model, and, in Expand and Background, paints new areas of a picture with an AI image model. Every model runs entirely on your device. The models are downloaded once, from Hugging Face, the first time they're needed. Your photos are never uploaded.

2. Your photos and creations

Your photos and everything you make from them are yours. You're responsible for having the right to use the photos you bring into the app, and for how you use what you make, including making sure it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights, and that you don't present an edited photo as an unedited record of real events where that would mislead or harm anyone.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to make or share content that is illegal where you live, that harasses, defames or impersonates anyone, or that you don't have the right to use.

Expand and Background use an AI model licensed under the CreativeML Open RAIL++-M License. As that license requires, you also agree not to use the app or its output:

1. in any way that violates any applicable national, federal, state, local or international law or regulation;
2. to exploit, harm or attempt to exploit or harm minors in any way;
3. to generate or disseminate verifiably false information and/or content with the purpose of harming others;
4. to generate or disseminate personal identifiable information that can be used to harm an individual;
5. to defame, disparage or otherwise harass others;
6. for fully automated decision making that adversely impacts an individual's legal rights or otherwise creates or modifies a binding, enforceable obligation;
7. for any use intended to or which has the effect of discriminating against or harming individuals or groups based on online or offline social behavior or known or predicted personal or personality characteristics;
8. to exploit any of the vulnerabilities of a specific group of persons based on their age, social, physical or mental characteristics, in order to materially distort the behavior of a person pertaining to that group in a manner that causes or is likely to cause that person or another person physical or psychological harm;
9. for any use intended to or which has the effect of discriminating against individuals or groups based on legally protected characteristics or categories;
10. to provide medical advice and medical results interpretation;
11. to generate or disseminate information for the purpose of being used for administration of justice, law enforcement, immigration or asylum processes, such as predicting an individual will commit fraud or crime.

4. REMOVE IT Pro

Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends; any unused portion of a free trial ends when you purchase a subscription. Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks Pro for as long as the app is offered. Buying Lifetime doesn't cancel a subscription you already have; cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple.

5. Open-source components

The app outlines objects with SAM 2.1 by Meta Platforms, Inc., in Apple's Core ML conversion, and rebuilds what was behind them with LaMa by Samsung AI Center Moscow, both under the Apache License 2.0. Expand and Background use RealVisXL V5.0 Lightning Inpainting by SG161222, built on Stable Diffusion XL by Stability AI, under the CreativeML Open RAIL++-M License, with the SDXL VAE fp16-fix by madebyollin and TAESD by Ollin Boer Bohan under the MIT License, running on MLX by Apple under the MIT License. 6. No warranty

The app is provided "as is". AI selection, removal and painting can be imperfect, so results vary from photo to photo, and how long a result takes depends on your device. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app or what you make with it.
